3D TV FAQ's

There is quite a bit of misinformation going around among consumers regarding the introduction of the new 3D TV. We have put together some commonly asked questions and answers in hopes to inform you on the key points about this new exciting technology.

Q - Will 3D TV hurt my eyes?

A - According to research, 3D technology in televisions does not pose any more danger to eyes than traditional flat-screen TV sets. However, people who are prone to migraines have expressed discomfort.

Q - Why should I buy a 3D-ready TV?

A - You should buy 3D-ready HDTV now if you are planning to purchase a new HDTV anyway because they provide excellent 2D quality, and will be ready when the 3D surge hits not long from now.

Q - Where can I purchase a 3D-ready HDTV and Blu-ray player?

Q - Can I use my current audio/video receiver to watch 3D?

A - Yes, you may be able to watch 3D TV using a home theater receiver using HDMI 3D pass-through technology. We will be sure to check if your home theater receiver supports this.

Q - Can I use my PS3 to watch 3D movies?

A - Yes, you will be able to use your PS3 to watch 3D Blu-ray DVDs with a firmware update that will be released by Sony before the end of October.

Q - How does 3D technology work?

A - It uses stereoscopic technology with 3D active shutter glasses. These glasses allow you to see through only one lens at a time and create an image for each of your eyes. Your mind merges these two images and allows you to perceive depth, making the picture on the screen appear 3D.
